This is a very useful resource which contains a flexible template for students to use during problem-solving activities (i.e. investigations, discussions, rich tasks) and can be used in any subject across the secondary school curriculum. The template guides students through the process of problem solving through structured questions and prompts. It lends itself well to collaborative learning and can be used as a tool to facilitate discussions among students. Furthermore, it is also an effective resource for self assessment as it encourages students to reflect on their learning.

This is an brilliant, time-saving template to help teachers plan and structure their behaviour management strategy for each class. It’s appropriate for use by teachers of any subject. The template provides an excellent, flexible framework for planning behaviour management incorporating seating plan, rules and expectations, class information, rewards and sanctions, start and end lesson routines and initial, secondary and final responses to poor behaviour. Context and guidance is also provided on how to use the template effectively. This has proven very popular with teachers across all departments in my school.

This is an effective, time-saving template to help plan and structure any learning activities teachers plan to deliver. It’s suitable for use across any secondary school subject. Using a food analogy, it provides a recipe card and the ingredients for planning a successful learning activity. It’s organised into sections with useful key questions/prompts for teachers to consider when considering the length, materials needed, appropriate structure and intended outcomes of each learning activity.

This is an incredibly useful resource for students of a glossary of all the key words and terminology used in exam questions in KS3 and GCSE Maths. This is excellent for improving students’ exam technique, as a revision aid and developing their literacy skills. A definition is provided for each key word alongside a worked clear example. In my practice I gave this to pupils as a handout and it was very helpful for revision purposes and greatly improved their exam technique.

This resource contains a set of questions and revision notes for pupils on acceleration and velocity-time graphs in GCSE Maths (Mechanics). Pupils are provided with worked examples and formulae to calculate the acceleration and displacement from a velocity-time graph before attempting a set of questions themselves. This resources builds strong cross-curricular links with literacy and developing pupils’ knowledge of mathematical notation and formulae.

This is an excellent resource of the old level descriptors pupils have to meet/fulfill in KS3 Maths. It’s very useful in helping teachers formatively assess pupils’ progress and acts as a aid for self and peer assessment. Each level is structured by clear outcomes of operations and activities across all 4 areas (number, geometry, algebra, data handling) students must be able to complete to meet the criteria for achieving the level. As well as boosting cross-curricular links I also used this resource as a poster/wall display and a handout for pupils to self and peer assess their progress.

An extremely useful powerpoint aimed at students in KS3 and GCSE which instructs pupils on how to build revision skills and revise effectively. It contains a wealth of helpful advice for pupils include guidance on how best to retain knowledge, structure revision time, several revision techniques, boost productivity and maintain their wellbeing. The powerpoint is interactive with several activities for students to participate in and is suitable for use in any subject, or as part of an assembly/form time.

This resource is suitable for those in KS3 and KS4 and is a powerpoint which aims to inspire pupils by documenting many famous people who have experienced adversity but still succeeded. This could be delivered to students in a PSHE/Citizenship lesson or as part of form time activities. This may be particularly appropriate to use around exam time when students may need some inspiration and reassurance.

The template can be adapted and is extremely comprehensive, allowing for all relevant information (class size, objectives, assessment, homework, cross-curricular links) to easily be recorded and noted whilst providing space for timings, relevant learning activities and transitions.

This resource contains a handy set of posters for Blooms’ taxonomy, with each poster corresponding to a different level of the hierarchy. It works great as a wall display in your secondary school classroom whatever your subject. Each poster contains the expectations students must meet in order to satisfy and meet the objectives of each level of Blooms as well as key vocabulary and terminology associated with it. It also encourages students to self-assess by asking them questions and guiding them to analyse their learning.

This resource is a powerpoint which contains a comprehensive, extremely useful bank of examples of 70 different assessment for learning (AfL) activities which can be used with secondary school pupils in any subject. They would also work well for use in form time. The activities encompass starters, main body activities, collaborative learning, homework tasks and plenaries and are designed to engage pupils, boost communication skills and encourage cross-curricular links. Each activity is presented with an explanation of how to use it as well as pedagogical tips on how best to integrate it within a lesson. A set of useful websites and links is also provided.

As well as being very relevant due to the increased number of students with autism diagnoses, this resources contains a wealth of practical advice on how best to support autistic students including understanding their thought processes, signs and indicators pupils may have autism, how to structure lessons and tailor communication and resources to cater to pupils’ needs and tips on effective behaviour management.

This powerpoint contains a comprehensive CPD session which aims to educate staff about autism and why it’s becoming increasingly relevant in education. It includes an overview of Autism, the different types of autism (varying by intensity and support needed), the neurology and science which underpins it, signs and indicators of it in pupils and how best to support autistic students in the classroom.

This resource contains a huge collection of assessment for learning activities including starters, activities to be used in the main body of a lesson and plenaries. The activities are generic and can be applied to most subjects. An overview of each activity is provided including how to use it in class and they are grouped according to how they are supposed to be completed (alone, in pairs or groups) and what type of resource is needed to deliver them (exercise book, handout, whiteboard, worksheet, post-it notes). These exercises are great for collaborative learning, self and peer assessment, building higher-order thinking skills and cross-curricular links (especially literacy and numeracy).

A very useful powerpoint offering advice on revision/exam technique which can be delivered to students revising for exams in KS3 and GCSE. It contains a wealth of handy hints and tips to help students prepare effectively in exams and make the most of their study time. It’s interactive and contains activities to keep students engaged and involved. Furthermore, this powerpoint is suitable for use in any subject and could also be delivered in form/pastoral time.

This resource is a comprehensive glossary of all the key terms and formulae used in KS3 Maths. It’s excellent for revision, as an aid to in-class work and building cross-curricular links with English/Literacy. The definitions are sorted by each area of mathematics they correspond to (Number, Algebra, Data, Shape and Space) and are explained in a simple, concise manner. There’s also a section detailing key formulae used in geometry, labeled diagrams of parts of a circle and advice on the different types of questions students will have to answer with guided examples.

A very useful template/place mat for pupils in KS3 and KS4 to use when peer and self-assessing a piece of work. This is especially useful in subjects like English and the humanities and works well as a plenary and a reflective/high-order thinking skills activity. It guides pupils through the process of self and peer assessment using helpful prompts, guidelines and clear criteria with which to assess the work on.
